What is a O-1 Visa?
The O-1 visa is for individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or who have a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry, and who have been recognized nationally or internationally for their accomplishments.
What are the benefits of the O-1 Visa?
The following are the benefits of this Visa: O visa holders are permitted to work legally in the United States for the O visa sponsor;
O visas can be obtained fast;
They are given for the duration required for a specific event, up to a maximum of three years, with unlimited one-year extensions;
The holder of an O visa and his or her family may travel in and out of the United States or remain in the country indefinitely as long as the visa stamp and status remain valid and The O visa holder’s spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21 can join him or her!
The O group of visas typically takes two to three months to process.
You will be told whether you were granted the visa or not after the processing time has passed.
It is not advisable for you to make travel preparations, such as purchasing plane tickets, until you are certain that your visa application has been accepted.

What are the required documents for the O-1 Visa?
The required documents for the O-1 Visa are the following:
the Form I-129 which should be filed by your employer or agent;
a valid passport; a 2×2 inch photography;
proof demonstrating your extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, business, education, or athletics, or extraordinary achievement in the motion picture industry;
a written advisory opinion from a peer group or a person with expertise in the beneficiary’s area of ability;
a copy of any written contract between you and the petitioner, the petitioner must provide an explanation of the nature of the events or activities, the beginning and ending dates for the events or activities and a copy of any itinerary for the events or activities.
What to bring to the O-2 Visa Interview?
To the visa interview, the applicant must provide all relevant original or certified copy civil documents.
Failure to present all needed documents to the interview may result in the visa being delayed or denied.
The following documents must be brought to the interview:
Letter of Appointment – The letter of appointment you received from NVC for your interview;
Photographs – two similar color photographs for each applicant,
which must fulfill the standard Photograph Requirements;
Passport – each applicant must have an unexpired passport valid for six months beyond the expected date of entrance into the United States;
Confirmation Page DS-260 and Original or certified copies of any civil documents you uploaded to CEAC as supporting documents.
Can I study on O-2 work visa?
The answer to that is yes, you can study part-time while maintaining your O status.
Make sure your studies won’t exceed the time you will be in the United States due to your Visa.
Who can apply for a O-1 Visa?
To be eligible for an O-1 visa, you must have extraordinary ability as evidenced by sustained national or international acclaim, or a track record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture and television industries, and you must be coming to the United States temporarily to continue work in the field of extraordinary ability.
